I had to do it, so many times I've seen my buddies jumping into the water and come out as comfortable as can be. Great choice DEDH.
I have a pair of neoprene Armour flex from several years ago. They wear tough as nails and I've not been cold in them yet. I think you're going to be a very warm, dry, happy waterfowler! Good luck on your opener.
